Crews Battle New Year's Day House Fire

A tall column of smoke rose over Chateau Estates in Apple Valley, where a fire broke out during the late afternoon on New Year's Day.

 

A half-million dollar home went up in flames on New Year's Day.

Apple Valley and Eagan crews labored past sundown clearing the scene of a fire in the 8000 block of 134th Street West, in the Chateau Estates neighborhood. At this point, details are few; authorities were unwilling to release the specifics as of Tuesday night.

No one was hurt, according to Twin Cities CBS affiliate WCCO. According to property tax records, the home in question is worth more than $500,000, and could pose a substantial loss.
