Dakota County Police Chiefs to Honor Rosemount Reserve Officer Friday

Officers from departments around Dakota County will be recognized Friday for exceptional work in law enforcement.

One of Rosemount's finest will receive recognition tomorrow morning at the third annual Dakota County Chiefs of Police Association 2012 awards breakfast.

The awards recognize work done by officers around Dakota County in 2012.

"It's the third year we've presented an award to members of Dakota County law enforcement," said Dakota County Sheriff Dave Bellows. "The actions being recognized reflect just a portion of the great work being done on a daily basis throughout our Dakota County communities."

Rosemount Reserve Officer Chuck Parrish, who has put in more than 1,600 hours of community service with his police reserve unit, will be honored by the Chiefs Association at the annual breakfast.

The Citizens Award of Excellence will be presented to Pastor Jim Bzkoskie, who has served as the chaplain for Dakota County Jail for more than 34 years.

Other awards will be presented to officers from Burnsville, South St. Paul, West St. Paul, Inver Grove and Mendota Heights.

The banquet is set for 8:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13 at Mendakota Country Club in Mendota Heights.
