Police found the girl and Whitner, who admitted to having sex with the girl on Aug. 16 in Dakota County and Aug. 19 in Ramsey County, according to the complaint.

Whitner said he thought the girl was 17 when they met, but at some point between Aug. 16 and 19, he learned her real age, the complaint charges.

When police questioned the girl about her relationship with Whitner, she began to cry and said she was pregnant and concerned about her baby not “having a father,” according to the complaint.

No information was available about Whitner’s upcoming court appearances. He is free on bond.
