Police were investigating a two-vehicle crash at the junction of Highway 52 and County Road 42 in Rosemount Wednesday evening.

A Ford Taurus and a minivan appeared to collide at the bottom of the ramp from southbound Highway 52 shortly after 6 p.m. The badly damaged Taurus ended up in a ditch off the north shoulder of County Road 42, and the minivan incurred front-end damage.

Dakota County Sheriff’s Department deputies closed the ramp from southbound Highway 52 and a small portion of westbound County Road 42 under the highway overpass. Traffic heading westbound on 42 was rerouted onto northbound Highway 52 for a time.

All traffic lanes reopened shortly after 7 p.m., when tow trucks arrived to haul away the damaged vehicles. Also on the scene were units from the Rosemount Police Department and Rosemount Fire Department. A truck and crew from Xcel Energy also responded.
