MVTA elects officers for 2012

Rosemount mayor is new vice chair.

The Minnesota Valley Transit Authority Board of Directors elected new officers for 2012 at its organizational meeting on Jan. 25. They are:

  • Eagan City Council member Gary Hansen was elected chair, succeeding Will Branning, Dakota County Commissioner for District 7.
  • Rosemount mayor William Droste was elected vice chair.
  • Jane Victorey, a member of the Savage City Council, was re-elected treasurer and also elected secretary in anticipation to a change in the MVTA’s bylaws and joint powers agreement to combine the positions.

Other members of the Board include: Dakota County Commissioner Will Branning; Burnsville Council member Dan Kealey; Apple Valley Council member Clint Hooppaw; Scott County Commissioner Jon Ulrich; and Wally Lyslo, at-large board member. Joseph Zanmiller of Rosemount continues as the at-large alternate commissioner.

The MVTA Board also adopted its meeting calendar for 2012. Meetings will take place at 4:30 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month at the Burnsville Bus Garage, 11550 Rupp Drive, Burnsville, with the exception of the February and August meetings, which will be held the fifth Wednesday of the month.
