Routine Meeting on Tap for Rosemount City Council

Police chief swearing-in ceremony, two other presentations are planned at tonight's meeting.

A rather routine Rosemount City Council meeting is on tap for tonight at Rosemount City Hall.

The agenda for the meeting calls for three presentations—including the ceremonial swearing in of new Police Chief Eric Werner—and the council’s regular consent agenda.

Werner took the official oath from the city clerk on Friday so he could begin work.

Among those scheduled to take part in tonight’s ceremonial swearing-in will be Werner’s brother Martin, a Minneapolis Police officer, and West St. Paul Police Chief Bud Shaver.

Other presentations planned for tonight include:

• Girls Scouts Coordinator Mary Owens will provide the council a summary of the scouts’ Environmental Day of Service on Oct. 13. That day, Girl Scouts plan to rake leaves, clear debris from city parks and mark some storm drain, which is intended to remind residents about the effects of dumping waste into storm sewers.

Bogart’s Place of Apple Valley will present a donation to the city’s Yellow Ribbon Committee, which assists soldiers and their families during and after deployments. Bogart’s raised the money during a golf and dinner event last month.
