Falcon Ridge Middle School sixth grader Jackson Bires and eighth grader Andrew Erickson will perform with the choir this fall.

Two students recently were accepted into American Choral Director’s Association of Minnesota state honor choirs, according to an announcement from the school.

Sixth grader Jackson Bires was one of 125 students, out of 380 who auditioned, to make the state 4-5-6 children's honor choir. He was selected as a middle voice.

Eighth grader Andrew Erickson was one of 210 who auditioned and 125 selected for the state 7-8 level boys honor choir.

Both students will work with Falcon Ridge choir director Michael Skaar on preparing five or six songs for a music festival and concert scheduled for Nov. 18-19, the announcement said. They'll have to memorize all the material.

They'll perform at Gustavus Adolphus College in conjunction with the American Choral Director's Association of Minnesota fall conference, the announcement said.
