5 Things Rosemount Residents Should Know: Rosemount vs. Lakeville North Football, District 196 Voicemail System Down for Upgrading

Some tidbits for residents to know today, Oct. 19.

  1. The National Weather Service is predicting scattered sprinkles and – wait for it – snow flurries before 7 a.m. today, then a slight chance of rain and snow showers , changing to just rain after 1 p.m. The high will hit only 46, with chilly northerly winds. Skies will be mostly cloudy tonight, with a low around 32 and north winds about 10 mph.
  2. Because of the Education Minnesota professional conference, Thursday and Friday, the Rosemount football team will take on the Eagan Wildcats at home at 7 tonight. The girls volleyball team will play at 8 p.m. at Lakeville North High School.
  3. Speaking of school: District 196’s voice-mail system will be offline beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday while the system gets an upgrade. So if you need to leave a message, do it today. The system is expected to be operational again by Friday morning.
  4. Bring the kids and their air guitars to the Burnhaven Library in Burnsville today for a performance by Will Hale and the Tadpole Parade. The runs from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.; inhibitions should be left at home.
  5. And today is national Evaluate Your Life Day. As usual, I’m not sure precisely what that means, but you might be able to get away with sitting inside in a comfortable chair, drinking a cup of tea and telling everyone you’re evaluating your life, so they should leave you alone.
