Apple Valley High School Has New Assistant Principal

Michael Bolsoni, the school's assistant administrator, will replace Assistant Principal Laura Kay Allen, who is retiring after 21 years of service.

Apple Valley High School Assistant Administrator Michael Bolsoni was selected by a hiring committee to be the school’s next full-time assistant principal starting this fall. He will replace Assistant Principal Laura Kay Allen, who is retiring at the end of this school year after 21 years of service in the Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan Public Schools.

In his current position, Bolsoni splits his time between Valley Middle School and Apple Valley High. The focus at both schools is instructional leadership, professional development, student discipline and day-to-day operations. He will start the new full- time position at Apple Valley July 1.

Bolsoni has worked in District 196 for 17 years, the first 11 as a social and environmental studies teacher at the School of Environmental Studies, the next four as a teacher peer leader in the district’s Q Comp program and the last two in administration at Apple Valley High, including half time at Valley Middle this year.

Bolsoni has a bachelor’s degree in history from Gustavus Adolphus College, a master’s in education from the University of Minnesota and a specialist degree in educational leadership from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
