Middle School Students Named to State Honor Choirs

The students will perform concerts next month.

Editor’s Note: The following is a press release from School District 196.

Twelve District 196 middle school students were selected by audition to participate in the 2012 state honor choirs sponsored by the Minnesota chapter of the American Choral Directors Association. The boys' and girls' choirs will perform Nov. 16 at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Stillwater and the children's choir will perform Nov. 17.

The Children's Honor Choir for students in grades 4-6 includes Lexy Hilton and Samantha Johnson of Dakota Hills Middle School, Quinn Hoffman and Cristina Tori of Black Hawk Middle School and Maya Holton of Falcon Ridge Middle School.

The Girls' Honor Choir for grades 7-8 includes Megan Eden and Julia Gaubert of Black Hawk, and Allie Maas and Julia Pelton of Dakota Hills.

The Boys' Honor Choir for grades 7-8 includes Anshuman Balaji of Falcon Ridge, Josh Brown of Black Hawk and Ethan Elumba of Valley Middle School.
