Rosemount High School to Present "Lend Me A Tenor"

Rosemount High School to present comedy of errors play in three performances this weekend; free senior citizen preview will be held Thursday

Mistaken identities, pliot twists, farce, double entendres and constant comings and goings will unfold this weekend as Rosemount High School presents "Lend Me A Tenor."

The play will be presented in the Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14 and Saturday, Oct. 15 and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16.

The story is set at night in September 1934, the biggest night in the history of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company. World famous tenor Tito Morrelli is to perform Otello, his greatest role, at the gala season opener.

"The humor, the craziness that comes with mistaken identity and the performance of the students -- who really explore the limits of each of their characters," are among the plays highlights, said director Christina Morris.

"I chose this play because I was drawn to the style of comedy it is," Morris said. "I like to work with scripts that have a lot of movement and create visual humor with the actors posture and staging."

Tickets will be sold at the door beginning an hour prior to each performance. Ticket prices are as follows: $7 for adults, $5 for seniors and $5 for students

A senior citizen preview will be is Thursday, free of charge, starting at 3:30 p.m.
