Apple Valley, Eastview Legion Teams Set For Sunday

The Thunder have a 4-0 record at the Gopher Classic and look to move on to Monday's championship bracket

The Eastview and Apple Valley American Legion baseball teams headed into Sunday’s Gopher Classic games with the opportunity to advance to Monday’s championship bracket.

Eastview headed into Sunday with a perfect 4-0 record in the Bloomington pool. With a win over Sartell at 2:30 p.m., the Thunder will advance to Monday unbeaten. Eastview has already defeated Bloomington Gold and Plymouth, IN, which are both tied for second in the pool with a 2-1 record.

The 76ers are 2-2 headed into Sunday and will finish up pool play against Mitchell, SD, at 7 p.m. at Legion Field. Apple Valley is currently tied with Bemidji with a 2-2 record. Both teams trail Mitchell and Mankato, which are 2-1 in the pool standings.

On Saturday, Eastview defeated Gillette, WY, 8-0 in five innings and followed it up with a 10-1 win in six innings over Plymouth. 

Apple Valley split on Saturday. The 76ers beat Bemidji 6-5 in the afternoon, then lost to Mankato 5-2 on Saturday evening to even up their record at 2-2.
