Eastview Boys Lacrosse Seeks State Title, Track and Field Athletes at State

A number of state tournaments this week will feature teams and athletes from Eastview High School.

A number of state tournaments this week will feature teams and athletes from . The Lightning boys lacrosse team seems poised to capture a state title in a quest that will start Tuesday, while a number of athletes will be in action this coming weekend at the state track and field meet.

Boys Lacrosse

The Eastview boys lacrosse team will make a bid for a state title beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday. The top-seeded Lightning (14-1) will square off against fourth-seeded Edina (7-9-1) at Chanhassen High School in a state tournament semifinal match.

The winner of that game will play the winner of Totino-Grace (13-3) vs. Eden Prairie (14-2) on Thursday at 8 p.m. for the state title. That game will also be at Chanhassen High School.

Eastview’s only loss of the season was an 8-7 defeat at the hands of Rosemount on May 1.

Boys Track and Field

Eastview will have a number of participants at the state track and field tournament coming up Friday and Saturday. That event will be held at Hamline University in St. Paul on both days.

The Lightning representatives include: Elijah Campbell, 100-meter dash; 4x100 meter relay team; Leandre Kennedy, 200 meter dash; and Brendan Cole in the pole vault.

Girls Track and Field

Melita Ware will represent Eastview in both the 300-meter hurdles and the triple jump at the girls state track and field tournament, also being held at Hamline University on Friday and Saturday.

Erica Bestul qualified for the 800-meter run for the Lightning.
