Eastview Football Advances in Section With 14-7 Win Over Burnsville

The Lightning will face the Rosemount Irish at 7 p.m. Saturday in the next round of section 3AAAAA football.

Despite poor pass performance, 's football team made it through its section 3AAAAA quarterfinal game Tuesday with a 14-7 win against Burnsville at home.

The No. 5 seed Blaze—which had zero passing yards on the night—took the lead in the first quarter on a 4-yard touchdown run by Jamond Bailey.

No. 4 seed Eastview came back in the second quarter with a 5-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Reger to Aaron Wesser, but missed the extra point and stayed short tying the game.

In the fourth quarter, Eastview's Eric Krupke made a 3-yard touchdown run— followed by a two-point conversion from Reger to Kenyon Phillips—to arrive at the final 14-7 score.

Eastview did best Burnsville in passing yardage—107 to 0—but completed only six of 21 pass attempts. Burnsville completed one of just four pass attempts, gaining no yardage on the reception.

The Lightning will take on —the No. 1 seed in the section with a first-round bye—at 7 p.m. Saturday at Rosemount.

Should Eastview win Saturday's game, the team would face the winner of Saturday's Bloomington Kennedy vs. Prior Lake game in the section final on Nov. 4.
