Everything You Need to Know for Eastview Hockey's Trip to State

The Lightning will play top-ranked Hill-Murray at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the Xcel Energy Center.

Propelled by a  4-1 victory over Eagan High School, the Eastview High School boys hockey team is heading to state—the team's first appearance at the tournament since 2001.

Eastview, 15-9-1 in the regular season, will have its work cut out for them as the team faces top-ranked Hill-Murray (22-2-1), which has qualified for the tournament seven of the last eight years. The game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 7 at the Xcel Energy Center in downtown St. Paul.

Hill-Murray may be a daunting first-round opponent for Eastview, but the Lightning have only allowed a single goal so far in post-season play. Eastview shut out Rosemount 4-0 and later defeated Apple Valley by the same margin. Sophomore goalie Zachary Driscoll made 37 saves against Eagan in the section championship last week, allowing Eagan's powerful offense only a single goal.
