In his first varsity action, Moore carried the ball 17 times for 115 yards and one touchdown last week against Eagan. Much of his yardage came in the second half when the Cougars looked to take time off the clock.

—Nevin Andreas (Lakeville South, linebacker)

Nevin spent a lot of time in the Eagan backfield last week. His biggest play was swatting down a fourth-down pass to end a third-quarter drive. The Cougars then drove for a touchdown to go up 28-14 and basically ice the game.

—Adam Moorse (Eastview, wide receiver)

Adam caught a 45-yard scoring pass last week, and he and the other receivers will be needed to help Eastview sustain a balanced offensive attack.

—Kody Peterson (Eastview, linebacker)

Peterson and the Lightning defense will need to slow down the South running game to force Mitch Leidner to throw the ball better than he did last week against Eagan.

COUGARS WIN IF...

They continue to effectively use their running game to set up the pass. In week one, Lakeville South ran for 219 yards and threw for 184.

LIGHTNING WIN IF...

After giving up 42 points and 421 yards to Lakeville North in a week one loss, the Eastview defense must put the week one slow down a potentially more explosive South offense. Long, clock-controlling drives are a must on offense.
