Brian had a touchdown on a fumble return last week. “We believe EV is going to try and use their size to be physical and run the ball. Brian is our lightest DL and needs to respond in a big way to the challenge,” coach Jeff Erdmann wrote in an e-mail.
-- Stefan Sauer (Rosemount – offensive lineman)

Stefan will be lined up across from Eastview’s big Zach Johnson. “We need to control the line of scrimmage and we need a big game from Stefan,” Erdmann wrote.
-- Eric Krupke (Eastview – running back)
The senior ran 26 times for 96 yards in last week’s loss at Burnsville. Coach Kelly Sherwin said that Eric “runs hard all the time and runs a lot bigger than he is.” Krupke is listed at 5-11, 175 pounds.
-- Jack Johnson (Eastview – right guard/nose tackle)
Already a stalwart on the Lightning offensive line, Johnson played at least 30 snaps on defense last week. Sherwin said Johnson was a “man-child on defense” and held is own against Burnsville’s Chase Roullier, a D-I prospect. Johnson also blocked a punt.
IRISH WIN IF...
It controls the line of scrimmage and is able to get its running game established to control the clock. Rosemount ran for 346 yards a week ago against winless Apple Valley. Defensively, the Irish cannot focus on running back Eric Krupke because Lightning quarterback Ryan Reger is throwing a nice ball.
LIGHTNING WIN IF...
They slow down the Rosemount running game, and do not give up the big play. Coach Kelly Sherwin the Lightning has done pretty well, but a few times every game there is a little thing that leads to a breakdown. On offense, Sherwin believes the Lightning need to establish a running game to control the clock. He also said Eastview needs to be better at doing all the necessary things, such as one last downfield block, to make bigger plays, such as turning an 8-yard gain into an 18-yard gain. Eastview must continue its success when it comes to turnovers. Despite its 2-4 record, The Lightning is plus-7 in turnovers. Eastview had 11 players out last week with injuries, and some, including linebacker Kody Peterson and running back LeAndre Kennedy should return.
