Football Wednesday: Regular Season Ends Tonight

Apple Valley, Eastview and Rosemount all have road games in their final regular-season matchups.

All three high school football teams in Apple Valley-Rosemount can finish the regular season with winning records with victories tonight.

Eastview and Rosemount would have five wins if they come out on top tonight. Apple Valley reached the five-victory plateau last week.

Rosemount has a tough challenge to get above .500 as it visits Lakeville North, which is tied with Prior Lake at the top of the South Suburban Conference standings.

In other games tonight, Apple Valley visits Eagan and Eastview travels to Bloomington Kennedy.

TEAM RECORDS—Apple Valley: 5-2 overall, 5-2 South Suburban Conference; Eagan: 1-6 overall, 1-5 SSC
LAST WEEK—Apple Valley defeated Burnsville, 14-7; Eagan lost to Lakeville North, 49-0.
GAME NOTES—Apple Valley shot out to a two-touchdown lead and hung on after Burnsville scored in the third quarter. The Eagles got on the scoreboard with a Tommy Singer touchdown pass to Steven Wilson in the first half. David Johnson then rushed for a touchdown in the third quarter... Last week, Eagan gave up more than 460 yards of offense in its loss to Lakeville North. The Wildcats earned their only victory of the season with a 35-0 shutout over Bloomington Jefferson on Oct. 12

LAST WEEK—Eastview lost to Prior Lake, 34-17; Bloomington Kennedy lost to Lakeville South, 55-28
GAME NOTES—Eastview trailed by just six points, 16-10, at halftime before Prior Lake took control in the second half last week. Scoring were Eastview were Will Rains, on a one-yard touchdown run; Amari Kennedy, on a 31-yard touchdown pass from Mark Dwyer; and Sam Fluegge, on a 30-yard field goal and two extra points.... Travon Hearns had a big game in Bloomington Kennedy’s loss to Lakeville South, throwing for 224 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for a score. Nick Jeberian rushed for 127 yards and one touchdown, and also caught a scoring pass from Hearns.

LAST WEEK—Rosemount defeated Bloomington Jefferson, 33-7; Lakeville North defeated Eagan, 49-0
GAME NOTES— Jackson Erdmann threw for 122 yards and two touchdowns as Rosemount won its third straight game and forth out of its last five. Also leading the Irish in their offense charge was Dimitri Williams, with 65 yards rushing and two touchdowns... Lakeville North got big games from Jamiah Newell and Issac Sandberg in its shutout victory over Eagan on Oct. 12. Newell rushed for 109 yards and three touchdowns, and Sandberg added 57 yards and two touchdowns.
