The Rosemount girls soccer team claimed the No. 4 seed for the Section 3AA Tournament and hosts what will likely be its final home game of the regular season, win or lose, against No. 5 Hastings on Tuesday night.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Hannah Halterman led the Irish with 10 regular-season goals and tied Melanie Simonson for the team-lead with four assists heading into the post-season.
Kaylie Hanson, Jana Elliott and Madeline Phillips each logged four goals apiece in pre-playoff contests, while goalkeeper Kate Mallory made 63 saves on 83 shots with five shutouts in 16 games played.
WHO WILL WIN:
There appears to be a wide gulf between the No. 4 and 5 seeds as Rosemount logged a 10-4-2 regular-season record, compared to just a 5-9 mark for the Raiders.
Each of Hastings victories this autumn was met with at least one immediate loss. The Raiders won their regular-season finale 2-1 over Forest Lake—expect that win to be met with a defeat at the feet of the Irish.
A Tuesday win will, barring upset, send Rosemount to top-seeded Eagan for the sectional semifinals on Thursday evening.
