Packed House Expected for Apple Valley-Eastview Boys Basketball Section Final

On Wednesday, Minneapolis Star Tribune sports reporter Brian Stensaas (@stensation) tweeted from the high school girls basketball state tournament after talking to Athletic Director Matt Percival:

"Chatted w EV AD Matt Percival. Lighting's [sic] 750 ticket allotment for Friday boys hoops sec final v. Valley on sale 2morw Might last a minute."

The situation probably will be similar at on Thursday, when 750 pre-sale tickets will go on sale for Eagles student fans, in preparation for a Friday section final match-up that determines which of the two boys basketball teams will head to the state tournament.

Tipoff Friday is set for 7 p.m. at Burnsville High School. Eastview is the home team.

For the public and students who don't get a pre-sale ticket, tickets go on sale at 6 p.m. Friday at Burnsville High, $7 for adults and $5 for students. For section (and state) games, no passes or district ID badges are allowed.

Seeded at the top of section 3AAAA, the No. 1 Eastview and No. 2 Apple Valley boys basketball teams blazed through their quarterfinal and semifinal games.

In Saturday's semifinals, Apple Valley beat No. 3 Cretin-Derham Hall 87-76. Eastview beat No. 4 Eagan, 62-43.

Eastview won both Lightning/Eagles crosstown match-ups this season, and .
