Rosemount Boys Basketball Upsets Eagan
The Irish lost to the Wildcats twice this year, but they'll advance in Section 3AAAA play
The Rosemount boys basketball team held off second-seeded Eagan and pulled off the upset in the Section 3AAAA tournament on Tuesday, beating the Wildcats 60-59.
Matt Nelson led the way for the Irish (7-20), finishing with 16 points on the night. Andrew Nelson also pitched in 15 points, and Evan Mitchell finished with nine.
The Wildcats (21-6) defeated Rosemount twice during the regular season, but each win was by two points. This time around, Rosemount found a way to beat its South Suburban Conference rivals.

The Irish will face Apple Valley on Saturday at St. Olaf College in Northfield. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.
Eagan was led by Mat Hentges with 16 points and Nick Sabotke with 11.
