Rosemount, Eastview Boys Go 1-2 in Section 3AA Cross Country Meet

Rosemount, Eastview teams qualify for the state cross country meet by finishing first and second in the Section 3AA meet at Valleywood on Thursday.

Rosemount and Eastview finished first and second in the Section 3AA boys cross country meet Thursday at Valleywood Golf Course.

Rosemount won the 15-team meet with 59 points. Eastview was second with 80. Both teams qualfied for the Nov. 3 state meet at St. Olaf College in Northfield.

Apple Valley was fifth in the boys meet with 148 points.

Trevor Capra was fourth overall in 15:47.2 to pace Rosemount.

Other Rosemount finishers included Sam Ivanecky (seventh), Tommy Linder (11th), Ryan Brummn (17th), Ryan Condon (20th), Alex Berhe (24th) and Michael Sampers (33rd).

Nick Oelke's third-place finish in 15:45.8 led Eastview.

Rounding out Eastview's efforts were John Donlan (eighth), Zach Tollefson (10th), Dan Spika (18th), Shane Bernhardson (41st), Andrew Erickson (53rd) and Brett Jones (69th).

GIRLS MEET

Eagan won the girls team race with 21 points. Eastview was fourth with 121, Rosemount sixth with 153 and Apple Valley seventh with 173.

Qualifying for state were Margie Freed and Laura Bestul of Eastview, Hannan Grimm of Rosemount and Camille Sjoquist of Apple Valley.
