Rosemount American Legion baseball team goes winless in 2011 Jim Hanus Memorial Gopher Classic Tournament
Rosemount Post 65 had a rough weekend in the 2011 Jim Hanus Memorial Gopher Classic Tournament, going winless in five games.
Rosemount lost to Bethel College pool winners Tri-City Red 14-5 in five innings in its tournament opener Friday. Rosemount lost Saturday games to Wayzata (9-4) and Fargo, North Dakota (12-4, six innings). On Sunday Rosemount lost to Thunder Bay, Ontario (12-7) and to Osseo (7-2).
Tri-City Red (New Brighton) won the Bethel pool and advanced to Monday's 16-team championship round.

The Gopher Classic Baseball Tournament is the largest American Legion Tournament in the United States with 66 teams competiting at 11 sites. Teams from 10 states and two Canadian provinces are playing in the tournament, which concludes Tuesday.
