Patch Picks: 5 Nonprofits Making a Difference

We all try to choose wisely when donating our time and money. This week, Patch will help you by listing five nonprofits making a difference locally.

To help in your philanthropic ventures, this week's Patch Picks highlights five local nonprofits right here in Rosemount that are making a difference, locally and around the world. Check out the hyperlinks to find out more about these nonprofits.

1) St. Martin's Way
St. Martin's Way is dedicated to providing tools that will empower people to improve their lives.  The tools include donating vehicles, befriending through counseling, life coaching and educational opportunities for residents of Rosemount.

2) CAP Agency
The CAP Agency provides services to residents of Scott, Carver and Dakota Counties. The CAP Agency served approximately 38,000 children, families and senior citizens last year in its tri-county service area. Services include help with basic services such as food, clothing, shelter, transportation and energy-related assistance.

3) Paws Place Animal Sanctuary
Paws Place provides help and hope for people who have come to a crossroads in caring for their medically challenged or elderly pets. The organization offers support visits, education, and nutritional advice. They can also provide a safe, secure place in a foster home or at their sanctuary.

4) Mid-Minnesota Quality Deer Management Association
The QDMA is a wildlife conservation organization dedicated to promoting sustainable, high quality white-tailed deer populations, wildlife habitats, and ethical hunting experiences. The organization includes hunters, landowners, natural resources professionals and the public.

5) Rosemount Area Arts Council
The council was born out of a discusion of what to do with the old Old St. Joseph Church and School on Hwy 3. The result was a group that helps sponsor arts events in Rosemount and offers encouragement and support to artists and lovers of the arts in the city.
